Bandwidth Passband Shaded Signal Overlay Questions

Hello,

Wonderful program. Really well done.
Can’t begin to imagine the number of hours to create it.

I do receiving only. Have an Icom R8600

Regarding the Shaded area overlay on a signal peak; the Passband or Bandwidth:
Would like to understand a lot better than I do.

a. There are apparently 3 Filters.
Can the width be adjusted/selected numerically ? How ?

b. Trying to drag with the mouse after selecting an edge seems “flaky”.
Sometimes it allows to a limited extent, other times not.
What are the “allowable” limits, etc. ?

What’s the correct way of selecting, and doing ?

c. What are “Soft” and “Sharp” ?

Any additional hints or suggestions on using the bandwidth/Passband would be appreciated.

BTW: The ant. Selection option is greyed out.
Is it only for transmitting ?
I have 2 receive antennas for <30 MHz; would be nice to be able to select via the program which one to use. Possible ?

Best regards, and thanks for all the help; very much appreciated.
Bob

Hi Bob,

I have 3 antenna’s to choose from on my R8600.I attached a picture.

Yes Peter, the IC-R8600 allows you to select ANT1/2/3 when operating at 30 MHz or below. wfview requires that you are currently receiving within an HF amateur band to enable Antenna selection due to the way that it works, we should have a workaround for this soon that will allow any frequency under 30 MHz.

Yes if you open the more settings panel (< icon on right hand side of scope display) there is a filter width slider.

Dragging can sometimes be a bit tricky on MacOS, not sure why?

Soft and Sharp are filter shapes.
