Hi dear contributors, I just started using wfview on RPi and Linux in server/client mode on an IC-706MKIIG. The FM mode seems to be missing, as well as repeater duplex (the regular split mode shows up though). Is there any way to add this easily? I found the .rig file in the rigs directory in the build tree but struggle a bit with its syntax.
Thanks a lot and 73
Helge
If there are commands for these things then yes, it should be possible to edit the rig file. If you determine a good set of changes, please share it with us once you test it out.

Please don’t edit the rig file manually, use rig creator (check the manual)
Thanks a lot for the hint! Adding the FM/WFM modes in rig creator worked immediately. However, I still struggle with the split/duplex mode. The transceiver manual describes that the command number for split/duplex is 0F, with subcommands 00 (split off), 01 (split on), 10 (simplex mode), 11 (duplex mode), 12 (duplex + mode). In rig creator in the command drop down list, there is only one command related to duplex (“Split/Duplex”). The string is correctly set to “\x0f”. No matter which values I put in the Min and Max fields, the repeater duplex section in the repeater setup window is always greyed out. Also, split mode does not seem to work as expected, “split on” enables the default frequency shift in the negative direction, while “split on” enables it in the positive direction.
Currently, as there is no way to configure CTCSS tones on the IC-706MKIIG the repeater setup options in wfview are automatically disabled. I will have a think about how we can relax this restriction.
The 706 lacks commands to set the tone. It does have commands to retrieve the currently selected tone though. Yes, it is read-only CTCSS…
