IC-7610 wfview 1.2d unable to reconnect

I’m have a really strange issue.
I have been operating remotely (on LAN) for about a month or so now, and in general have not had any issues until yesterday.

I was operating remotely (via internet) for about 1/2 hour when I suddenly lost my connection. I was unable to reconnect and even had someone try connecting with RS-BA1 ver 2 for me. No joy.

Today I had someone power cycle my radio even thought it appeared to be running just fine (after reconfirming home IP hadn’t changed). I was instantly able to connect up and control the rig. Used it for a bit, then disconnected. I tend to not power down as then I loose my autotuner for the band I’m on and have to very carefully re-tune or loose my amp until it gets reset.
Now, once again I cannot reconnect (and the person who rebooted for me has left for the day.
Below is the log file from my attempts. I have even tried to manually set the CI-V address thinking maybe something went amiss.
I do not think that this is a WFView issue (but it could be), and wonder if anyone else has experienced this and might have a resolution.

Hi Gordon

I have had this happen with my IC-7610. I have also a couple of times I lost all local control of the radio. The only solution in both cases is to power cycle the 7610.

The 7610 will start up in the same mode as when it was powered down. So if you leave it in standby mode, anytime the power is turned off, the next time the power is turned on it will come back in standby, ready for remote use.

You can do this remotely using an internet controlled power switch. These type of switches are cheap and readily available. They are also good for controlling other equipment in your shack.

Thanks Ken, I was expecting the radio was the culprit, but like I said, I have been remote for about 5 weeks and not had this happen. Occasionally it would sort-of reconnect giving me audio but not give me control and a simple disconnect/reconnect fixes it, but this was the first time (well twice now) a total loss.

I have someone heading over to reboot it again, and this time I’ll just leave it connected and hope it doesn’t fail on me.
Great idea to add a remote power switch. I am working on a simple web control for my amp so I can reset it when I do stupid things like not tune up (AT-500) correctly. Will look at a couple of power button options now too.
Would be super cool to integrate it to the GUI to make it really simple to use.

this at times happen with the 9700 stack as well. The only way to fix that is to power cycle hard.
(I can do that remote as well).

I’ve mentioned this in a groups.io-group to see if some of the reports can be bundled so that it becomes a bit more clear that it may be a bug in the code. Never had this with the 785x (which has a different network-stack.
