IC705. Windows 10 (64bit). No Audio options

Hi There, Ive installed the WFView software on 2 different laptops but I cant select any Audio devices. The boxes are blank. Ive installed VB Cable too. Everything else seems to work fine. Even WSJT-X also works fine through the virtual com port but obviously no audio. Any ideas ?

We haven’t seen this on any of the machines that we have tested Windows 10 with, if the boxes are blank it means that Qt has been unable to enumerate your audio devices.

Can you take a look at the log file on both machines Log file | wfview and post any messages that begin ‘audio’?

Yes it definitely seems not to be finding any audio devices on your computer. Can you let me know what make/model the computer is and what sound device you are using as this is very strange?

Hi Phil. Ive been messing about with this all day and have now got it to work. My guess is that the drivers for the Audio devices on both Laptop’s had got messed up. Ive un-installed all drivers etc and re-installed again. All seems ok at the moment. For the record they are Realtek Audio Drivers. I guess its just my luck that I had the same drivers on 2 different laptop’s ! Also what helped was using the new version you have just uploaded. Does the Software have an “ini” file type thing that once generated it keeps using that for start up reference ? Cheers for you help anyway. James G1JSP

Hi James.

That’s great news, I thought it would be something like that, but the fact that it happened on two machines suggested otherwise.

wfview uses the Qt preferences systems which in Windows, stores everything in the Windows Registry. This is described in more detail in Preferences File | wfview as always, when editing the Registry, always have a backup!

The second release of wfview should have multiple rig management and a re-vamped user interface.
