I have setup a rule to name the usb port for my IC7300 acordingly. Works. However, in the setup of wfview the port “IC7300” is not selectable or later shown, after I entered it manually.
In the config file, it is stated correctly:
SerialPortRadio=/dev/IC7300
IMHO it would be nice, to show it in the settings as well (instead of “manual”), if possible.

Hi Thomas,
wfview asks the operating system for a list of serial ports, and that’s what goes in the drop down menu. The OS is probably smart enough to tell that the symlink is a duplicate. But this is what “Manual…” is for at the bottom of the serial port list. Type it in once and the save the settings, and never have to do it again. Not so bad really.
Anyway, if I think of an elegant way to include symlinks to serial ports, I suppose we could 
no harm in doing so!
