Yesterday I downloaded and installed Wfview onto my shack computer which runs XP.
I connected a USB2 cable between the radio and the computer; COM14 was assigned after the drivers loaded.
I started the program, clicked for USB, and selected Auto. I entered 94 as the CI-V address.
I have set the program and radio Baud rates Auto; no go; to 115,200; no go.
Of course I have saved parameters and restarted the program a dozen times.
What am I doing wrong?

ci-v transceive is on?
Also XP - we never tried it and tbh – using it is, like windows 7 – not really a good idea generally.
YMMV though.

Hi Rick
As Roeland says, we have never tested XP but to be honest, if the program starts, it should be OK
In general, you should leave C-IV address blank and allow wfview to auto-detect it from the radio. It uses C-IV transceive to do this (which must be enabled in the radio) Getting Started | wfview

GM Roeland,
I managed to solve my problem.
I had CI-V “remote” enables. I disabled it and now it works.
I tried to go back in and delete my post, but couldn’t find it.
So I did not manage to delete it. Sorry.
I have all computers here on Win 10 Pro except the shack.
Unfortunately, some of the older ham software programs won’t run on newer O/S.
Tnx for the speedy reply.

David,
as an infra/linux/network engineer – anything that does not get security updates should not be used, except for when it’s completely stand-alone w/o a network.
On the other hand: we did not test XP so it’s a nice to know.
