Connect via usb
The radio connection is working, but no waterfall. Seems like I have no audio input. ??
Per the FAQ, there is no audio support for USB-connected radios. Just use whatever audio programs you like with the 9700 directly, wfview does not use the audio for the USB connection.
If you want a fast waterfall and audio support, use the ethernet connection instead.
As for why you do not have waterfall, can you please verify that CI-V Transceive is enabled on the radio?

Thankyou for the reply, Yes ci-v is enabled. So if I want the waterfall I have to connect via the network.
Elliott asked, is CI-V TRANSCEIVE enabled, not is CI-V enabled. This must be enabled for wfview to correctly detect the radio type. I also didnât see anywhere that he said that the waterfall doesnât work over USB. It does work, but only if you select 115200 baud, and Unlink from Remote must also be selected. This is the same with all Icom radios that have a scope. The USB scope is significantly slower than the LAN based one though.
Hello, this is my first activity with WFView and a first post to a topic.
I had exactly the sam Problem with my IC705. The cause was CI-V Transceive setting in IC705.
The difficult thing is that when my IC705 works with other tools (with CAT), this flag is
automaticaly set back to off. This information is very important and the user has to always remember that.
I have another question for Phil. You wrote :
It does work, but only if you select 115200 baud, and Unlink from Remote must also be selected.
Where can I set this ? I didn`t find that in the IC705.

I donât think that the IC705 has an unlink from remote option, as that is only used with radios that have both USB and âphysicalâ CI-V ports. The physical ports, are usually limited to 19200 baud, so when âlink to remoteâ is enabled, that is the maximum speed of the USB port as well.

Hello Phil,
thanks for the quick reply. Sorry I didn`t ask precisely. I am connected to my IC705 exclusively
via Network (LAN or WiFi) and not via USB. But this CI-V transceive setting is important here.
I always have to check that the flag is on.
What is about your statement :
It does work, but only if you select 115200 baud, and Unlink from Remote must also be selected.
Does this also affect the connection via network ?
Confusing in this context is the information at Radio Status :
Rig Name : IC-705
CI-V : A4
Baud Rate : 19200
User IP Address : 192.168.xxx.xx
What does it mean ?
I think the connection speed in this case is mainly limited by the home network
included router, rigth ?

You can safely ignore that, as I said, it only affects USB connections when the radio also has a physical CI-V port, nothing else.
