I have recently installed the latest release of WFview and have found it to be quite user-friendly. However, I would like to inquire about the possibility of customizing some of the band keyboard shortcuts.
I would prefer to have the band and keyboard shortcuts conform to a standard similar to those found on most Kenwood radios. Specifically, I would like to use command 1-0 to change between 160-6 meters, and control-shift-u-c-l-a to access the various modes.
Additionally, I have noticed that there is no keyboard shortcut to close a window after opening it. The only way to close a window is to navigate back to the main window using voiceover or to close it using command-w, which is a native Mac OS shortcut.
Finally, I would like to know if it is possible to adjust the width of the receive and transmit filters offered by these radios. In particular, I would like to know if the Kenwood radios allow me to change between the various transmit and receive equalization profiles.
We might eventually make the shortcuts customizable. It’s a lot of work to do this for every shortcut.
You can use F1-F4 to change the active window, and yes, command-W should close most windows.
Don’t forget that we support a wide range of USB hardware controllers (buttons and knobs) which you can customize fully to your liking.
We will add EQ controls soon (and bass and treble knobs for Icom users). It’s definitely on the list.
There is also a control for the passband if you press the little “>” button on the bottom-right side of the spectrum display. Filter width, IF Shift, and so on. These controls may be a bit difficult to use at first, but give it a try.
We have thought about adding customisable keyboard shortcuts, as we realise that not everybody will like the pre-defined ones.
This is something that we will likely add at some point.
Similarly we haven’t done anything with EQ settings yet, but we will likely add it at some point, if we can come up with a manufacturer agnostic way of doing it.
RX filter settings are configurable on the TS-890 by dragging the passband or via the sliders available in the < more settings window.
