Distorted Audio with Icom 705 and WSJT-X on PC

Hello everyone,

I’ve joined the forum because I’m encountering a problem that I haven’t been able to solve on my own.

I’ve always used my Icom 705 with SDR-Mobile on my iPhone without any issues, and the audio I see on the waterfall has always been clear and crisp.

Recently, I installed VFView, Virtual Audio Cable, and Virtual COM Port. The setup of this software went smoothly. However, I’m experiencing a problem: the data audio seems distorted or “dirty.” I’ve already checked and adjusted the gain levels and other settings, but the situation hasn’t improved.

I’ve also performed transmission tests: with SDR-Mobile on my iPhone, I can establish connections without problems, but with WSJT-X on my PC, this isn’t possible. This leads me to believe that the issue lies with the audio on the PC.

As I have told the MANY people who have asked this in the past, do not use the free Version of VAC. It only offers one stereo pair, so the TX and RX audio are connected together.

Please search the forum for more in-depth analysis.
