Error with dxgi.dll

Hello, I’m giving wfview a try for the very first time. Downloaded v1.6.1. Installation seems straightforward, however when I try to start wfview to begin configuration, I get the error “The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in dynamic link library dxgi.dll”. I note that I have six (6) instances of dxgi.dll in my computer.

Computer using Windows 7 64-bit
Intel i5-2400 CPU
8 GB
NVIDIA GeForce GT520 video adapter
Target radio IC-7610

I’m sure this is something I should know about but I seem to be blank…
Many thanks for any help.

Hi Dave.

The download for the x64 version of wfview 1.61 says ‘Most users with a modern Windows will want to install this’

Windows 7 is nearly 15 years old so not really considered ‘modern’

You need to use the x86 (32bit) version which ‘should’ work, but you are on your own as we don’t do any testing with Windows 7.

Wow! So quick!
I am suitably shamed, I still considered Windows 7 ‘modern’.
OK, I’ll see what happens with x86.

Thanks very much!

Yes I know what you mean, in my head it seems that 2000 was just a few years ago…
