Frequency goes up to max on X6100

Brief summary of problem (put in title as well):
Frequency goes up to max on X6100.
On startup the frequency is set to 440mHz, when I try to change it the radio jumps to 54mHz (the maximum of the radio) and the frequency in WFview jumps back to 440mHz.
I edit the IC-705.rig file (the xiegu x6100 use this file) deleting the band lines above the 54mHz to see if this helps with the problem.
It did not solve it, the frequency jumps to 54mHz instead of 440mHz and it will go back to it if I change the frequency.
I can manually type in the frequency or click in the spectrum to go to the desired frequency with success, but when I mouse over the frequency display the radio goes immediately to the max frequency.

Radio Model: Xiegu X6100
Connectivity: Ethernet
Operating System: windows 11 & macOS 12
wfview version (press “About”): 2.03
Checked the wfview manual (Y/N): Y
Checked the wfview FAQ (Y/N): Y
Tried to google it (Y/N/NA): Y

What I did: edit the IC-705.rig file

Expected behavior: stop climbing up in freq.

Observed behavior: Climbs up to the new edited max.

Hi Johan,

I do not understand “On startup the frequency is set to 440mHz”.

How is the radio set to 440 MHz? Or is wfview set this way? Can you clarify what this means and how it is done? Or do you mean “millihertz” (lower-case “m”)? When I start wfview, it is not set to 440 MHz or 440 mHz.

Hi Elliot,
Thanks for your reaction.

De radio is on the frequency I use before I start WFview.
WFview start up wit the frequency set to 440MHz eg. 4400000000 what to my opinion is the max freq. of the icom-705.
The max freq. of the x6100 is 54Mhz
If I do nothing the radio is working at the freq it is on at the moment I turn WFview on.
In WFview I see the waterfall at the frequency on the radio en hear the stations on that freq.
As I try to change the freq on WFview the radio jumps immediately to the highest frequency, on my radio 54MHZ
If I try to lower the frequency in WFview it jumps back to 440MHz.
After I edit the IC-705.rig file WFview sets itself to 54.000.000 with the same reactions I describe above.

As this doesn’t happen on a ‘real’ IC-705, best guess is a fault or configuration issue on the radio. As we don’t officially support Xiegu radios, you are best to contact them (or whoever you bought your radio from) for any more support on this.
