HOW to Go Back to Hands-On Operation of IC-705

WFview came up first try and have been using it w/o problems for a few months. Now I would like to go back to hands-on operations and haven’t found instructions for a one click options to go hands-on. Could someone point me in the directions of back-out instructions?

Thanks,

Hi Dave

Wfview doesn’t stop you using the radio ‘hands-on’ the only thing you are likely to need to do is to change the MOD INPUT back to Mic before you exit wfview.

Thanks Phil,

I tried this and no change. I also tried DataMod to MIC in addition. There must be something more that needs to be done perhaps on the IC-705?

Hi Dave

I’m not sure that I understand the question to be honest, exactly what isn’t working? wfview doesn’t change any settings on the radio by default and nothing will stop you using front panel of the radio (with or without wfview).

The only thing that does occur to me is you may have activated the ‘dial lock’ function? This is turned on (and off) by pressing the SPEECH button for 1 second.

HI Phil,

I checked the dial lock and it makes no difference… this is all very odd. The remote audio for MIC and SPKR work fine. When I go to hand-held MIC… no audio.

I will test the MIC but this is a new radio. I doubt the MIC has failed but I guess anything is possible.

Thanks,
dave

the other thing that may be causing this to happen is that if you have set input to mic, the mic level is, say 30%.

else – save your settings to a card; do a partial reset and see if that works; if not, do a full reset.
Here it’s “just working”

BINGO! Set the MOD Input to MIC gain and radio volume to MAX, then saved and exited. That did the trick!

Thanks for noodling this one with me. Much appreciated. Now if that transmit button would just turn orange when in XMIT mode this old ham would be so very much appreciative!

it’s red to be honest – that does or doesn’t work?

(just checking).

As said at other places – we’re toying with the idea to must important settings first on a “save-stack”
and at normal exit we then could pop ot off that stack and reset settings.

Sounds great no problems the price for this application is best value in ham radio!! Looking forward to lots of updates over the years thank you very much for what you do for ham radio
