Thanks for the thread. I am seeing similar behavior with IC-756PRO on Win11 Pro on Surface Go 2 (Core m3-8100Y 64bit) using wfview 1.64. Serial connection is working from other apps, e.g. WSJT-X, with appropriate COM & baud settings.
Without CI-V Tranceive enabled on radio, connection to rig hangs. With CI-V Tranceive enabled on radio, OR with the radio address (5C or 0x5C) entered in settings, wfview crashes ~2-3 seconds after connecting to radio. With radio off I can start the program and change settings etc (no crash). Twiddling the tuning knob on screen will keep it alive as noted earlier in thread.
“Downgrading” to x86 instead of 64-bit version of wfview seems to remove the crash. I haven’t had a lot of time to test that out further but quick inspection looks good.
