IC-7300 connected on macOS 16.5 (Mac mini M4), but GUI does not display waterfall or controls

Hi I try to explain the issue as a object:

Radio Model: IC-7300

Connectivity (USB/Ethernet/Wifi/Other): USB (via KVM switch, also tested direct)

Operating System: macOS 16.5 (Mac mini M4)

wfview version (press “About”): 2.11

Checked the wfview manual (Y/N): N

Checked the wfview FAQ (Y/N): Y

Tried to google it (Y/N/NA): N

What I did

:

I connected the IC-7300 via USB to my Mac mini M4 running macOS 16.5. The USB cable passes through a KVM switch, since I’m testing multiple platforms (macOS, Windows, Raspberry Pi OS, Ubuntu on Raspberry Pi). wfview 2.11 detects the radio, and the connection is reported as successful in the status line.

To rule out the KVM switch as the cause, I also tested using a direct USB connection between the radio and the Mac, but the issue persists.

Expected behavior

:

The GUI should display the waterfall and enable the radio control interface (frequency, mode, etc.).

Observed behavior

:

The GUI remains mostly gray. No waterfall is shown, and the controls are missing or inactive, despite the software indicating that the radio is successfully connected.

Thanks.

What does the lower right corner say in wfview? “NONE” or “IC-7300” ?
