IC705 disconnects intermittently with WSJT-X active due to rigctl error

Hello,

I have a IC705, connected it per instructions to wfview on Ubuntu and that works great. However, when connecting wsjt-x via the rig control server, I get disconnects especially when transmitting. The log always show this error message:

2021-11-08 19:34:53.800 INF rigctld: Unimplemented command "X PKTUSB -1"
2021-11-08 19:35:03.867 INF rigctld: 38 disconnected

Has anybody observed this before or knows what the problem could be?

Hi Andrej.

That’s because you have split mode (rig) configured in WSJT-X (X is the rigctld command to set split mode) and it is not currently implemented in wfview. If you select split mode ‘fake it’, it should work ok.

Thanks

Phil

Ah, I see. I put it into that mode, because WSJT-X can’t find the rig at all when I use “Fake it” in the Split Operation section.
Hm, let me go back and check all the settings.

You may need to manually disable Split on the rig itself as if split mode is enabled in WSJT-X, it will set this on the rig and then fail to connect to wfview over rigctld.

Yeah, that seems to be the case.

For reference, in the IC 705:

Menu → Set → Function → Split → Quick SPLIT: OFF

Thank you for your help and 73,
