IC7300 no response with Plantronics headset

I have successfully setup WFview with my IC7300. I’m running windows 10 on an HP desktop PC. The desktop PC is connected to the IC7300 with a 30 ft USB printer cable located in a room upstairs from my hamshack. I can control the rig with no problem but I cannot get the audio output or mic input working from the PC. My goal is operate SSB using my Plantronics (hardwired) head
set which are connected to the USB port on the desktop. I have verified that the Plantronics headset boom microphone and the earphones are working properly. I pasted the WFVIEW log (from today) below. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Greg, from the FAQ FAQ | wfview :

Q: Why isn’t there any audio in wfview for my radio connected with USB?

A: wfview does not need to do anything with the audio from a USB radio, unless you are running a wfview server for remote access to your radio. If you need to access the radio’s audio, such as for a digital mode like WSJT-X or PSK31, simply select the radio’s USB audio directly from the digital mode program. To use a headset with your USB-connected radio, you’ll need to install some sort of audio loopback utility to direct headset audio into the radio. Again, this advice here only applies to the computer physically connected to a USB radio at the radio.

Phil,
I had already seen this response from the thread on this topic. I am
still confused. I only want to run SSB, not a digital mode from the
PC. The IC7300 is connected to the PC with a serial cable. Are you
saying I still need to run WSJT-X to get the audio from the radio to the
PC? I have VBAudio Virtual cable installed on my PC. The IC7300 is
COM1, the Plantronics USB headset is in COM1. Where do I tell it to
direct the headset audio to the radio?

Greg,

You tell it using some program other than wfview. Wfview does not do it. And whatever that other program is, it does not need wfview in order to do it.

To do what? To redirect audio from your radio’s USB sound card to your headset. It has nothing to do with wfview.

It is in the text that Phil provided. Indeed the beginning of the text is about digital modes but the entirety is not. You have to read the entire paragraph.

Have a look. Read it all.

Doesn’t that seem applicable?

Your nest step is to google “how to redirect audio from one device to another using windows” (substitute whatever OS and version you use, of course).

We wrote the FAQ with hopes that people would read each applicable section. This one mentions your exact issue. Read it carefully and then you may understand what to look up.

Don’t feel bad. It’s a common question (it’s an FAQ due to how frequent it comes up!), just try and read and digest what you see there. You’ll get it.

Elliot and Phil,
Just to let you know I was able to configure my PC with the correct audio settings. I now have operational Tx/Rx with my Plantronics headset, IC-7300, on USB connected Windows 10 desktop - upstairs from my shack. I can send a picture of my settings if anyone is interested.
