Mac OS says v1.62 download not legit

Hi, in my first attempt to install wfview on my M2Macbook Air (Ventura 13.3.1(a)), I downloaded from vfview.org and then double clicked on the .zip.downlad file.

Popup windows says “The file “wfview-macos-1.62.zip.download” doesn’t appear to be a valid download file.” and then efficiently moves the file to Trash.

I’ve searched around and don’t see how to handle such a file or such a problem. Can anyone help?

The downloaded file should be called wfview-macos-1.62.zip

It is possible that the .download suffix was added by your browser because it hasn’t finished downloading? I would try to download it again, maybe use a different browser?

Phil,

Yes, the long download time fooled me. I just sat and watched the download for a couple of minutes and then the .download disappeared.
