Being impressed by the new possibilities of wfview 2.0 I installed it before uninstalling wfview 1.64. Unfortunately I curretnly have wfv 1.64 as well as wfview 2.00 in the list of installed apps. Uninstalling from the list of installed apps in win 11 home by clicking on the three dots crashes and nothing happens.

Simply remove what you see in
c:\program files\wfview.
Or:
C:\program files (x86)\wfview
Wfview doesn’t put stuff all over your computer. You can safely just remove it manually. Maybe remove both and then install V2 again just to be sure?
Sorry for the uninstaller issue. Can’t say I’ve tested that out myself either.

Thanks for your efforts and it is software made by hams for hams - qualitiy is usually better than that of commercial software
I have the same issue, well except my old one is 1.62. Trying to uninstall 2.01, a window flashes very briefly then goes away, and WFView 2.01 is still there.
Is there a manual uninstall or some registry edits? Thanks, Tim W8TGB
You can run the maintenancetool.exe program that is installed within the wfview program directory.
The installer doesn’t deal with pre-existing installations very well (at all) so you really need to make sure any existing installations are removed before you install a new one. The only exception to this is that the x64 and x86 can happily co-exist (as they are installed in different directories)
You can remove the install entry from the registry, but please bear in mind that incorrect use of the Windows registry can cause major issues and a backup is always recommended before making any changes.
The Registry keys you need to work on are:
64 bit:
x64: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
x86: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
DO NOT delete the whole key, you need to go through the child keys and look for ones containing wfview, then delete that key and all values within it. For example the x64 version of wfview 2.01 should be called:
{69ab7c71-0e8a-453d-b109-6578ecf751d6}
Thanks
Phil
I had to go through the whole registry to remove every line where wfview was mentioned in order to remove wfview from the list of Apps installed. I guess the major fault I made was to install 2.0 in parallel to 1.64. So my advice: take care to uninstall any other version of wfview before installing a version of wfview.

Thanks @phil this worked. And to remove older “ghost” version you can go to the old control panel and uninstall it from there and since it really is not already there, the system will just ask if you want to remove the orphan entry.
