No transmit audio from digital mode apps

I’ve read the docs, FAQ, and relevant threads and am at an impasse.

log: 2024-10-09 11:08:20.742 INF system: "wfview version: 1.64 (Git:b4c079f on Jul 16 - Pastebin.com

I’m connected to an IC-705 via LAN on a Mac. Audio using computer’s speakers & mic works fine. Redirecting audio from VARA, ARDOP, etc. does not work.

I’ve tried using both Blackhole and Loopback, but the TxAudio meter stays at 0. The input level meter for the virtual audio device in the Sound section of System Settings shows the audio making it that far. Using the same method to redirect wfview’s audio output to these apps works fine.

LAN mic gain slider is at the top. Radio Access, Audio Input is set to the correct device. Sample Rate (48k) matches device. Radio Settings, Modulation Input & Data Mod Input are both set to LAN. Apps are successfully tuning & keying PTT via wfview’s rigctl emulation.

Any hints on further troubleshooting or alternate ways of getting audio into wfview would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a good handle on most of the variables.

What sample rate is being used by the virtual audio system?

Also it seems like you may still have the wrong device selected:

2024-10-09 11:08:20.891 INF default: Looking for inputs
2024-10-09 11:08:20.891 INF audio: "Client Audio input device vara found! "
2024-10-09 11:08:20.891 INF default: Looking for outputs

2024-10-09 11:08:20.892 INF audio: "Server Audio input device iMac Microphone found! "
2024-10-09 11:08:20.892 INF audio: "Server Audio output device iMac Speakers found! "

Why are you running the server anyway? Turn that off.

PS: wfview has something similar to pastbin built-in, just press “Send to termbin” to do so.

Bummer, but thank you for the quick reply.

Virtual devices are at 48k. For BlackHole, the default is 44.1k. Neither that nor changing it to 48k in Audio MIDI Setup works.

The enable checkbox is not selected for the server. For what it’s worth, if I do enable it, the audio input/output dropdowns are disabled.

I just discovered (missed this in my first read of the docs) that disconnecting from the radio enables the audio system dropdown. Changing it to PortAudio appears to have fixed it!

Sorry for the string of separate posts.

Wonderful, no worries on the separate posts. Indeed, we can’t change audio systems while connected.

Glad it’s working for you. Make screenshots of your setup(s) for your own reference later.
