Raspberry Pi Server crashing

I’m running WFview on a Raspberry Pi 5 as a server for my Icom IC-7300 on a local network. I have WFview installed on my main Win11 machine. I use separate ini files depending on whether I’m operating digital or phone. Phone has no issues. Digital crashes the server every time I attempt to transmit. The problem has occurred on Versions 2.03, 2.05, and 2.10. Please help me find the problem.

If it happens only when you transmit, I would suspect RF ingress to be your issue. Make sure you are using a good quality USB cable and have plenty of ferrites on it and the power for your Pi.

As to why it only happens during digital TX (not phone) phone tends to be significantly lower average power, whereas digital modes will usually be full output power.

Digital TX fails immediately even without modulation. I click the Transmit button on WFview and the server crashes. I don’t think its a power variation issue.

If you are using the free version of VB-Audio, it only provides a single audio connector, I never recommend using it, as the tail of RX audio is actually transmitted when TX is pressed. Always use separate audio devices for TX and RX audio and you may find that improves things.
