Successes

Hi,

Just thought I’d let you know that I decided to remote my 7300 using WFVIEW.

For information I chose to use a mini PC. Linux is too much faff.

IMHO starting out a new installation is always best on a greenfield site therefore I used a new PC as a server with Windows 11. This is still experimental. I want to use windows server eventually.

Once the OS was loaded I installed version 2 of WFVIEW without any other software on the device.

It wasn’t completely without fail but the basic installation went very well. One issue people may have is the server firewall. I found the first time I loaded the client, when it connected I could see the software was loading but it was featureless. No sound and most of the buttons didn’t work. I had to allow WFVIEW as an app through the server firewall.

Even that didn’t resolve it, so I then found that pinging the server from the client didn’t work either.

Turned the three server firewalls off, ping started to work.

Connected WFVIEW client to server again. All features now working.

Closed firewall. Still working.

Not anticipating any more problems. Not sure why the ATU Tune and CW buttons are grayed out but can live with that for now…

Well done development team. Hope this helps.

Thanks Stu, glad it is working for you.

The ATU/CW issue is fixed in a new rig file, but if you aren’t that bothered, you can wait until v2.01 which will be release very soon to address various issues that have been identified.

Happy to test the rig file.
