Support for RC-28 USB encoder planned?

That’s great!

I will probably tidy things up a bit but it is a good start…

One more thing but I will need to test it more.

I think that first press of F1 is not reacting at all. Only the second.

But will test it more and report.

Thanks again!

I have discovered a potential cause for this, if pressing F1 is the first thing you do after starting wfview, it is possible that would get lost.

I have pushed a fix which may (or may not) fix this issue.

So.
LEDs are now working perfectly.
TRANSMIT button also…
But if I set Band+/Band- or Mode+/Mode- or Band20 and Band17 or Split On Split Off for F-1/F-2 buttons it doesn’t work.
The only function that worked was PTT On/Off/Toggle…

wfview detects button press and even is doing something but it doesnt work:

I haven’t tested all functions but this is what I’ve found.

@phil I’ve just ordered Express Shuttle so will be able to make compression tests in next days;)

The Split buttons aren’t currently implemented, but the band buttons should work. You probably need to press the reset commands button to get the latest updates though.

Thanks

Phil

Ok reset helped, but then while jumping through the band (on IC-7610):

Ah, ok it expected to show we are out of range of Edges? Koz that RED MESSAGE looks scary;)

That’s the point. It’s to stop people wondering where the VFO indicator is!

Point taken;)
Good so I can confirm that all works now completely on RC-28;)

I’m also hoping to later implement a function that checks one of your pre-defined edges to see if there is one that contains the selected frequency. I mean, why not? Clearly the intent is to use the scope!

for this “issue” I defined edge 4 to have a certain width and use fix scrollmode.

depending on mode, I vary the width for cw and ssb, in contests. else 500 kHz to1 MHz is good. never out of range!

I just connected ShuttleXpress… and have a comparison…
One thing to note for SSB/CW example:
Knob on the radio - one rotation is ~6kHz
ShuttleXpress - one rotation is 1kHz frequency change on default settings of 100Hz step.
RC-28 - one rotation is ~56kHz

Maybe we should change the default step when RC-28 is connected to 10Hz?
Or reduce the number of counts/10?

How do you think @phil ?

I don’t understand this discussion. I am seeing the OUT OF RANGE red button flashing, the WF display shows nothing and it used to work with V1.59 on x86 mode (on my Windows 10 and 11 64 bit machines). I don’t know what the Edges settings are supposed to be for and have never used them

Select Center for Scope Mode and your problem will disappear;)

That’s the way it was always set and the problem is always there

You need to provide more details then, like screenshot at least…
As with “Center” there should be no OUT OF RANGE… as there is no range but Span…

That is very strange, hopefully @eliggett can weigh-in as he wrote that bit, what happens if you try the other Spectrum modes?

I am experiencing same issue

Gordon,

What radio are you using and what firmware version does it have installed?

Phil

7610 with latest firmware. Previous versions of WFView, including nightly builds work fine. I’m completely remote so I am unable to check any setting on the radio.
I am using the RC-28, but I am having this issue without it connected and disabled.

Thanks
