I was wondering if any licensed operators particularly in the UK have any thoughts on unattended operation and licensing regulations?
Im thinking of things like kill switches etc? Any thoughts much appreciated.
Oh also a quick question about bandwidth requirements and any ways to minimise the upstream data from the rig? (IC7610 via ethernet?) Thinking possibly using a pc with wfview as server and USB connection to throttle data demand? Again any thoughts much appreciated!
I can remotely control the power of all my devices (using a 16way network power controller). The license only states that the remote link must be secure to prevent unauthorised access and that transmissions can be terminated promptly.
I would always use the radios built-in server rather than the wfview one given the choice. It provides a much smoother waterfall/scope display. The only exception to this would be in extreme bandwidth limited situations where the Opus codec would be useful.
