Using AutoTrack in Split operation causes offset to double
Radio Model: Icom 7300
Connectivity: USB
Operating System: Win 10x64
wfview version 1.6.4
Manual, FAQ, googled, all checked.
What I did:
- Enter a TX frequency, for example 29.1 mhz on the dial.
- Enter repeater setup.
- Activate Split On
- Select AutoTrack
- Enter 100 khz
- Select Split-
- TX frequency box populates with 29.000 mhz
- Split shows correctly on the radio as well, 29.1 and 29.0 mhz in the split.
- I then mic key down on the radio’s physical mic:
- TX activates, but the frequency drops to 28.9 mhz.
- Same behavior with “Transmit” button in WFview.
Expected behavior:
TX stays at indicated split frequency and the offset tracks as I move up and down the dial
Observed behavior:
At key down, the offset is applied to the split frequency, and the radio ends up transmitting at a freqency that’s double the offset. It seems that the offset is being applied twice, and in some cases, even three times. This behavior is also shown when doing a positive offset. Looks like the software is reading the TX frequency after it’s already transmitting, then applying the offset again, and then perhaps even applying it a third time. Rapidly keying the TX can even cause further issues with the AutoTrack feature.
Thank you.
