Hi
Yes.
Just as the receiver, rather than
an Icom unit.
Best regards and a Happy Holidays,
Bob
Thus far, wfview only connects to Icom radios (plus the Xiegu to some degree).
I’ve been wondering when wfview might support the use of my AirSpy connected to the IC7100 IF as a Panadaptor. Currently used locally with HDSDR. After early discussions which didn’t suit my setup, I moved the rig to where I operate from, so don’t need remote operation, but I’d still like to see the ability to put the panadapter display in the wfview box.

Hi Tony,
I have considered adding support for IF taps via RTLSDR. Getting data from the RTLSDR (USB or tcp/ip) is not too difficult really. Not sure about the AirSpy but maybe it is the same inside? Similar?
It’s tricky because it kind of cuts up the way wfview expects all the data to come from one radio.
Let’s wait for the dust to settle with the V2 release and revisit this idea. I have plenty of older radios without spectrum output which I can test with.

Hi Elliott
The AirSpy R2 produces a USB stream of 12 bit I & Q data - higher resolution than the RTLSDR’s 8 bits, and the libraries to tune it are no doubt different - HDSDR uses a .dll file.
I shall look on with interest - I only live a couple of miles from Phil in Leicester, UK, so could take hardware round in the future if necessary.

Are there open source libraries that can talk to the air spy?
Also, if you visit Phil, please bring him a beer from us
