Hi John,
You will need to port forward using your home router.
This is beyond the scope of support offered here, but if you google “how to port forward” then you will find what you are looking for.
In summary:
The ports, by default, are 50001, 50002, and 50003, and they are of the “UDP” type. They must be forwarded to your radio’s LAN address.
You will then need to find your home’s public IP address and connect to that.

Thanks Elliot, I will look it up shortly and educate myself some more.

Please provide the following information with your question:
Sooooo, I was told tailscale is the way to go, Its installed on my pc and iphone, but no connections. I see it on ipconfig, but help from the support team is like finding hens teeth. You cannot get a direct answer from them as to a step by step checklist and set up.
Does anyone use tailscale and can help
Thanks
John
where did that tailscale suggestion came from, may I ask?
I cannot remember, but I cannot get it working. Been off colour so not much time on internet
I would suggest trying lical network first. and after that, easy solutions.
starting with a vpn is not exactly a good idea.
Unfortunately it’s a solution to get around my isp block. I am unable to connect rx through them
John
I cannot comment on this ifyour ISP blocks or not. Mine is a real ISP – has a fixed IPv4 address, has an /64 IPv6 prefix and all is unfiltered. That’s my own job.
I do block everything, except for what I need.
Sometimes people just don’t open ports (protocol, port numbers) correctly, haven’t NATted them to the right host or use PAT. So I’ll have to trust you on this that it’s correct.
Sorry about it.
BT ( british telecom ) internet service does not allow r/c connex to one’s router. They claim its their intruder / hackers / everyone else defence system in operation. You could look it up and we are in a contract anyway…ssoooooooooo !
Allegedly tailscale is a work around ha, but I am too stupid to figure it out and besides life is too short.
here is what I have
timescale on pc and ios phone
using one account on both
I get a dns erroer which I am trying to replicate sothat I can get an error log sent to them.
I am done as the americans say, I have un-installed and sending off a stinker email to tailscal.
