The Program is showing NoTX on startup. V1.64. No-one else is on the system, and the program is working well on another computer. I am not near the server or the client so can’t get to the log to send.
Sorry, you have to tell us a lot more information. I have no idea what radio or OS or anything. And version 1.64 is quite old.
Put yourself in our position. We seriously can’t help you if this is all you post.
Sorry. It is an Icom 7300 and the operating system for both server and client is Windows 11. Since we began this project when V 1.64 was all there was, we intend to complete our testing with all clients on the same version. Some of our users say that the newer version is more complex and want to stay with 1.64. Once we get things running satisfactorily with all users we will switch to 2.10. If it were just me, I would switch now.
There are only 2 situations (maybe 3) where No TX can appear.
- Radio doesn’t have transmit (IC-R8600 and similar)
- Another user is connected to the server or.
- The server ‘thinks’ another user is connected.
Most likely 2 or 3 in your case, if another user definitely isn’t connected, try restarting the server.
Thank you. I will be able to tell more when I can actually see the client computer on Friday. As always, your help is much appreciated.
Check the live log on the server, is it scrolling warnings constantly?
Using a 1.6x client with a 2.x server, or vice-versa, will cause plenty of unhealthy traffic in the log, and if either side is low on resources of any kind, this will certainly drag performance down.
A 1.6x client on a 2.x server may not be aware of this happening until there is some network congestion, and that’s when weird stuff starts to happen, like loss of control etc.
Thanks tim. Will do.
We will be switching everything to V2.10. Thanks everyone for your help.
